Armenia was hit by a devastating earthquake in 1994, which it is still recovering from. Those efforts have shifted away from addressing immediate needs to focus on longer term development. However, the government has limited funds that can be allocated to vulnerable populations, such as orphanages, retirement centers, and boarding schools. In addition, these populations are especially vulnerable to the cold winters.
Missions Quilts will be distributed to institutions that deal directly with vulnerable elderly, children, and persons with physical and mental disabilities.
