Mission Quilts, Blankets, Personal Care Kits, School Kits, Baby Care Kits, Fabric Kits

In February 2016, LWR shipped quilts and kits to our partner in Peru – an organization called Caritas. Caritas will distribute the resources in the most marginalized zones of Lima, as well as some of the remotest areas in Peru – sites to which other organizations and the government do not reach out. For the most part, beneficiaries are those who are excluded from public and private development efforts and policies because of poverty and extreme poverty, sex, age, or health (disabled people or people living with HIV and AIDS). Receiving items like quilts and kits provides support for families so they can increase their chances of progressing out of poverty. The distribution is expected to reach over 30,000 people, including nearly 15,000 children.

Mission Quilts

LWR shipped Mission Quilts to the United Nations Human Resource Depot (UNHRD), located in the United Arab Emirates. As always, our priority is working to quickly and efficiently deliver Quilts and Kits after an emergency occurs. By sending your Quilts and Kits to this unique UNHRD warehouse, they stand ready to be deployed after a disaster and are prepositioned to help those in need when disaster strikes.

In the past, it has taken weeks and even months to get Quilts and Kits on the ground after a disaster, but through this new partnership, your gifts of love will be much closer to the people who need them. But don't worry — your Quilts and Kits won't sit waiting indefinitely! If an emergency doesn't call upon those resources, we'll send them to one of our other partners in that region to fulfill the needs of families coping with poverty.
